Welcome to the Cock Inn, Luddesdowne

We are a traditional English wet pub, set in the Kent's beautiful Luddesdowne Valley.

First opened in 1713, we are a pub in the true sense of the word basing ourselves around

good beer, a convivial atmosphere and friendly conversation.

Free from children and gaming machines, we provide an adult environment with conversation and traditional pub games. - Bar Billiards, Darts, Crib, Dominoes, Shove Ha'penny, Shut the Box -are all here for your enjoyment. If you don't know how to play, there is always someone here to help you.

A pub built in the 1700's was never built with today's catering expectations in mind. Space limitations and meagre facilites mean that we do not offer a menu or formal catering. There are many eating houses around but as a traditional pub we are truly unique.

We pride ourselves on the range and quality of our beer offering, serving at least six quality cask ales and a selection of genuine German Biers. This is reflected in the fact we have appeared in every CAMRA Good Beer Guide since 1987.

Andrew Turner, the landlord and owner of the pub since 1984 is Member of the Guild of Master Cellarmen, former Fellow of the British Institute of Innkeeping,  Fellow of the Guild Of Master Victuallers,  and has received numerous awards, including winning seven regional  CAMRA "Pub of the Year" awards as well as been a finalist in a further nine.
