The heart of any English pub, we are renowned for the quality and range of our traditional cask ales.
With seven real ales always available on hand pump there is a wide choice for the connoisseur of British beer. Stock ales include Adnams Southwold & Broadsde, Goachers Traditional mild & Shepherd Neame Masterbrew. Additionally there are changing guest beers from some of Britain's many independent brewers. Regularly featured ales include those from Burton Bridge Brewery, Staffordshire, Kents Westerham Brewery, Cottage Brewery in Somerset , Woodfordes of Norfolk & Skinners of Truro and the newly formed Brentwood Brewery
For lager drinkers we offer Bitburger (Germanys No1 selling beer) & Becks Vier
For Stout devotees we offer Guinness in both standard & extra cold forms.as well as Kostritzer Schwarzbier - a black beer from Germany.
Finally for Cider drinkers we sell Weston's Stowford Press & Hogan's Warwickshire Cider on draught.
The fully temperature controlled cellar is maintained by your host of 24 years and Master Cellarman Andrew Turner F.B.I.I., and awards include:
